Hello Fellow Assessors,
Greetings from beautiful Colorado, where I’m currently attending the 2024 IAAO Conference! It has been a fantastic event, and I am thoroughly enjoying everything this state has to offer. I must admit that the MAA conference was equally impressive, if not more so.
The personal attention, educational opportunities, special activities, and even the swag bags were all thoughtfully curated with you, our MAA members, in mind.
As the President of MAA, I’m admittedly biased, but after organizing the 2024 Summer Conference, I can attest to the dedication and excellence of our MAA board. Every detail, from the golf tournament and gift basket exchange to the euchre tournament, contributed to making this year’s conference truly exceptional. We started our work in late June 2023 and concluded it on August 14, 2024. Reflecting on the experience, I can honestly say it has been both a blessing and a highlight of my long career as an assessor.
I am excited to shift my focus to positive changes for MAA before my term ends. I am committed to delivering the promised social media content and developing a platform for addressing specific assessor questions and concerns with practical insights.
The conference was not only an opportunity for great learning and high attendance but also a chance to recognize our outstanding members. Please take a moment to review the award winners and the activities that made the event so worthwhile. Looking ahead, Mackinac Island is our next destination, and planning is already underway. We aim to continue the momentum by welcoming both first-time attendees and returning members. MAA is dedicated to providing exceptional service, and I’m confident that next year’s conference will be just as successful!
